I have a 2007 F350 dually that with an 8 foot bed that I use mostly to pull a fifth wheel. I got this truck a couple of years ago and have been happy with it for what I use if for. However, a short while after I got it I realized that the bed had some rather extensive rust damage. I had it checked over by a body shop and the verdict was the frame was fine, but eventually the the bed would need to be replaced.

The body shop recommended that since it wasn't an emergency that I find the bed myself and to try to find one from Texas (I am in Nebraska). He said it wouldn't be hard to find but he'd have to mark it up considerably if I had him find it. Since then I have been looking and am not finding much. All of the places I find online are in Indiana and Michigan, which I fear won't be any better than what I have now.

Does anyone here have any ideas where to look? I am willing to travel to get it, I just need a lead.

Also, my understanding that a 99-2016 bed will fit, but that the lines will be somewhat different on the newer beds. How odd would a 2016 bed look on a 2007?

Have you tried the 2007 F350 dually store? It's in between F340 and F360 street.

I would not go with a sleep number bed. Just not worth the price, IMO.

Maybe consider a purple mattress? No metal in those so it'd be immune from rusting. No idea if it might fit though, because of that 5th wheel. Maybe you could cut a big hole in the middle for the 5th wheel?

I just checked Facebook Marketplace for the DFW area. There are several on there from $1200 to $2000. Not sure what you where planning on spending but they do not appear to be that hard to find in the DFW area.

Another option is to contact CM trailers or the like who manufacturer replacement flat beds for trucks. They often have a lot of beds they've pulled from customers they sell on consignment.

Thanks for both the serious and not serious replies. I did a search on the automotive board to make sure the questions wasn't already answered and thought I was sill over there when I signed in to post.

I'll check out marketplace for D/FW. I don't mind traveling to get it, but that's along ways to go just to look.

Couple of thoughts:

- I had an F-350 2007 dually that I replaced the factory bed with a CM flat bed. You might prefer just getting one of the CM flatbeds. You can buy the five inch or so side inserts that help with loads etc.

- Or, those places selling the flatbeds remove a whole lot of factory beds that they generally get for nothing from the customer who has no use for them...and would probably sell you one pretty cheap. Might take a while though to get the color you want...unless you're wanting white.
