Hear about how cheap it is in Mexico to get dental work done. Tons of dentists right over the bridge.

Anybody ever go this route to save $ ?

My grandparents used to live on Lake Amistad and would go into acuna for prescriptions and what not, idk if they ever had dental work done (granddad was a Marine with medical discharge so I doubt he did)

I knew a contractor that did this regularly. He disappeared one weekend and never saw him again.

Acuna isn't dangerous unless you go looking for cocaine and hookers. Stay within the main tourist areas and you're fine. Most of your medical and dental offices are in these areas. I've never had dental work done there but have a buddy who's uncle is a dentist there. Most of his business is from the us.

Years ago my sister in law went across the border for extensive dental work. She ended up getting a severe infection and required major corrective surgery state side to fix the damage they did. After her incident appears that it happens very frequently. Take it at face value, but I would be skeptical after watching everything she went through.

Classic!!

In my 20s, I dated a Brazilian girl for several years and we would go to Brazil to see her family at least once a year. I needed to have two wisdom teeth removed and even with dental insurance, it was going to cost over a thousand dollars here. The best friend of my girlfriend's mother was a dentist and the Dean of one of the major dental schools in Brazil. She agreed to pull my wisdom teeth basically for free, I just paid for the prescription pain killers for after the procedure. Other than spending a couple of days of my vacation being a little uncomfortable, it worked out great.

A co-worker was going to go last year for dentures, but after factoring in travel and hotels for the follow-ups, the savings was not that great.

A friend who was a recovering meth addict had his entire mouth re-done in Mexico a few years back. He's been very happy with the results ever since.

From 1996 to 2004 I crossed the border from College Station to go to my dentist in Bryan. In 2004 I moved to Bryan making that border crossing unnecessary.

Turkey and Iraq (Erbil) are the new places to go for these types of treatments. Had one of my employees go to Erbil over Christmas and got a full hair transplant procedure for $900 and veneers that look pretty damn good. Interested to how his hair comes along but looks great so far.

What if the dentist has no bridge?
