Visited the Red Wing store and was informed that Red Wing has discounted the iconic 1178. This is a travesty as this boot has long been the official boot of every frat daddy thats called College Station home. These boots are synonymous with Texas A&M. They advised me to reach out to Red Wing as they are responsive to customer input and to also let everyone else know what a tragedy has befallen this cultural icon and national treasure. I say let's give Red Wing a call and let them know that this unchecked aggression will not stand and the 1178 must be resurrected!

I got my first pair my senior year in high school, and they lasted me around 20 years (worn hundreds of times each year), never reheeling them. When I bought my 2nd pair 7 or 8 years ago, the that owned the shop in Richardson, said the store in Bryan (or maybe it was College Station) always sold more of those boots than any store in country, by far. Thank you for alerting us to this tragedy. Red Wing must right this wrong.
