it is kicking my ass.

doctor told me only thing for it would be a steroid pak that is 50/50 to work at best and would possibly hurt my sleep more and make me hungry all day so I opted out.

anyone got a good cough remedy?

I've had a minor nagging cough for about 3 weeks after having a cold, or maybe it was allergies, or maybe it was covid. Same thing. Overall I'm feeling good though.

My doctor called it the 90 day cough. Yep, it sucks. Had it for about a month now.

I've had a cold since last Wednesday that I cant shake! Until this afternoon I was sneezing every other breath! Maybe the Texas climate tomorrow will help me.

No but I've had the great equalizer for 3 days. Should be all square by now.

My 4 year old has it. No other symptoms. And not constantly. But when he gets going it's around for a bit. Had it for about 3 weeks now. Poor baby. His doctor said it's just going around. As long as there's no fever let it play out.

Getting over a sinus spell. ZPak and steroid dose. Have a thick clear mucus in my throat that all I want to do is clear out but seems to linger.

I've had a very annoying and persistent cough since November 1st. Prescribed cough medicine barely makes a difference. My abs/ribs are unbelievably sore. And I was drinking so much hot tea that my eyes were literally twitching nonstop until I realized the correlation and stopped the tea a couple days ago. Miserable af.

Purple drank?

Got it around November 1st. Not the worst I've ever had but definitely different and a pain in the azz. This week, I have been coughing up blood tinged phlegm first thing in the morning. Once I kind of get everything out, I feel better and I stop coughing blood. Phlegm turns clear or white. I cough so hard, at least in the morning, my abs have been hurting since this monday. I have thought I have blown blood vessels in my eye and I have almost puked many times.

I have been progressively feeling better and my cough is easing, but I think I coughed so hard I'm hoarse.

No fever. Mucinex seems to help.

This is called TB.

I'm 3 weeks into the post viral cough and I almost never get sick. Haven't missed work in forever.
Pretty sure it's adult RSV. It sucks, Beavis. But this, too, shall pass.

YES! 3 week, 3 doctors visit. The z pack and benzonatate pills help but the cough is still there. Better but still there.

I am almost never sick (did get covid, aka cold, a few months back) but for like 4 of the past 7 years I would get a terrible cough that lasted from late October through most of November, in one case it went well into December. In each of those 4 years, it was so bad that I did not bother to deer hunt. I didn't feel bad, or feel sick, but the cough could not be stifled and was nonstop. Just let it run its course. It was always the exact same time frame. Didn't get it this year though.

Yeah, I had it, and my daughter too, and my wife kept telling us to stop habit coughing. Yesterday was the first day I don't remember coughing during the day since October 13th

Butterscotch candy. Not joking. Recommended by the pediatrician when the kid came down with pertussis in high school. We found Reed's brand worked best.

Also Altoids Arctic Peppermints in blue tin can. Discovered that one on my own.

For a traditional OTC treatment, try Robitussin Long-Acting CoughGels.

Had stomach pains last weekend that some Pepto helped out. Monday I had a sore throat and was burping and coughing...suspected acid reflux so I started taking some stuff for it. Now I'm just coughing with a runny nose. Weird.

Yup. I never get sick but this cough lasted 3 weeks. Some real pretty green / pink / white fur balls.

Doc gave me a z pack and antibiotics then it slowly faded away.

Any of y'all that were given antibiotics, did they do a sputum test first or just throw drugs at it?

My doc just threw 'em. No test. He said everyone is getting the crud and it's exacerbated by the continuous high pollen counts.

I caught it in the beginning of the month. Negative for RSV, COVID, Flu I suspect human metapneumovirus. The cough started as more bronchial than post nasal drip now just have a very mild cough from the drainage. Nyquil/Dayquil during the early acute phase, Navage rinses. My wife got a little pneumonia with it so I called out cefdinir for her but we are both doing fine with it.

Update: kids still coughing non stop and I have been since Wednesday.

Update: it does actually end. Been cough-free for about a week now.

My cough finally got so bad I couldn't function (literally couldn't drive because coughing fits were so incessant and making me dizzy and nauseous). Finished 7 days of antibiotics yesterday and it's improved a lot. Still having fits when my heart rate goes up, but other than that just coughing a bit every 5-10 minutes or so instead of every minute of the day. I'm exhausted and so frustrated that I haven't been able to work out for 27 days.
