I found $135 under my late paternal grandfather's name a year or two back. I told my sister about it because she was executor of his estate. She said she "feels weird" about taking it, so it's still just sitting there. I can't imagine who she thinks the money belongs to. Our father is dead, and he was an only child. Our grandmother died five years before our grandfather did.

I found $600 A&M owed me a while back.

I've thought about starting a company to help technology challenged people get their money. Didn't do it but it's always hanging out in the back of my mind.

I see something that could be mine. But it only lists last name. Not first name. Not sure to proceed or not. Could be someone else's with the same last name.

I have $1,027.85 from Property Type: NOT DISCLOSED

There's $274.40 in my grandfather's name. He died in November 2009. I texted my sister again (she has POA) asking her to claim it. Fingers crossed.

is she the executor of the estate because the POA is no longer valid since he died. It ceases at death.

Yes, she is executor. She had power of attorney when he was alive and in a nursing home.

I told my friend to just keep going through - worst case is you are told no or you find more info out.

There is already a company that does this. They take care of it for you and take a cut for themselves. They mail everyone owed money to get business.

Never find anything for me. I guess I'm too good at tracking who owes me money.

Did find a bunch of mineral interests with my last name. Maybe I'll try to make a claim.

Why would you need to hire someone to do this? The link is right there. Don't you just search and then claim what's yours?

What is shocking - look up how much A&M has out there.

Looked it up and the wife randomly had money appear in the last few months from A&M at just over $2k in cashiers checks and money orders? But we haven't been student in nearing two decades. Have absolutely no idea what the money is related to.

I know but I figure there's room for more than one or two players in the market.

i dont have much, but there is another guy with my last name that is owed over 100k. one of them is 47k!!!!

Imagine going on unclaimed property in 50 years and finding out you had some bad ass trump NFT jpgs out there.

I sent a claim in a couple of weeks ago and still waiting for it to be looked at. I called and was told they review first come first serve and couldn't tell me how long it would take. I'm curious how long it takes for them to review and send you the check.

Oh it was maybe 2 months? Honestly don't know for sure but I was supposed to send in my SSN card I think - never did and got approved. Then maybe check came 2 weeks later?

Damn, I actually had a couple listed on there both for the same amount. It's a shade under $100/each but I'll gladly take the money. No idea what it's from though.

So a post recently in another forum that it took them about a year to get paid on their claim after they sent in the required info.

I sent in a claim in 2016, and it took about a month.

I got my sister to request the $274.40 in our late grandfather's name. We'll see how long that takes.
