Was an overreaction on his part based on the "hit" she got, but she opened the door to it. No sympathy for anyone that gets hit back.

This seems like a situation where he could just warn her though. If she tries again after that, go ahead.

Whenever someone immediately goes to their defense justification, it means they know they ****ed up with a disproportionate response. That said, I also don't mind someone learning that assaulting another person could lead to you eating punches. You don't get to just hit people with no repercussions because you are a woman or old.

Don't hit anyone if you don't want to be hit in response. Simple as that. Doesn't matter waht gender either party is.

I want more context. What is she doing there at the counter that had him talking to her? Is she being a Karen with the staff? Did she cut in line? Did she do anything wrong at all leading up to the incident or was the guy at fault for the situation to begin with? I want to know.

Some strange woman punches me for no good reason, she's getting hit back. (And I'm still of the type that would stand to give a woman my seat in a crowded bus or waiting room. Even one a lot younger than me.)
