  • Tonic water is carbonated and has quinine in it. Give a distinctive flavor. I like it.
  • Sparking water, as I believe, is usually just carbonated, but sometimes has flavoring, sweeteners.
  • Club soda is carbonated but also contains added minerals, e.g. calcium

Yeah usually that's more common. I'm drinking flavored and sweetened sparkling water right now.

I'm unsure if there are any rules or de facto standards. I guess companies produce whatever they think will sell.

Sparkling water also has minerals. The difference is that sparkling is natural while club soda is not.

Sparkling water mixed with diet cranberry-pomegranate juice is my go to non-drinking night beverage. Actually drink that quite a bit during the day.
