I don't know, it seems cool in theory. But my main hangup would be that it's almost certainly haunted. I could deal with a lack of modern amenities, to an extent. But I could not deal with ghosts.

Not all castles are located in lonely, isolated places.

I have had bier in the courtyard of Hohenzollern Castle multiple times,and loved the whole vibe of the place. There are a number of castle all over Europe that are very accessible.

You could live in Edinburgh castle and have just a short walk down to any number of bars on grassmarket for a few pints and then take a nice lady home back with you.
