Not that I sit and watch videos all day, I only subscribe to a handful...maybe less than 10. With a lot of these creators that have millions of followers, I wonder how many users out there have like hundreds of channels they follow.

Should I be subscribing to YouTube channels? I feel like I get too many notifications as it is.

Rick Beato and Rhett Shull and the guys at Anderton's all claim that 50-60% of their views are from people that don't subscribe to the channel. Rick could have 6 million subscribers instead of 3.5 million if most of those people would subscribe.
I don't subscribe to any, yet, as if it's magic, all the stuff I generally watch is right up on top when I go to youtube.com. The Youtube algorithm works just fine without subscribing.AliasMan02 said:

And this is how I end up watching a random women's track and field event from Romania that has 30 miillion views at 2am.AggieArchitect04 said:
Lol. OP you're not using YouTube right.
You're suppose to start with one video and then let the algorithm take you down a rabbit hole through subsequent videos.
You might like the Primitive Technology channel. No verbal commentary (though there is some in the closed captioning) - dude just building stuff in the wilderness using super ancient methods.Ragnar Danneskjoldd said:
there's a dude that has handbuilt two cabins in the canadian wilderness. He has a dog. Its better than anything Ive seen on tv or movies in years.
My self reliance.

Im not sure why this channel is so intriguing, but i have watched him eat 100 MRE since you mentioned it.Eliminatus said:Claude! said:You might like the Primitive Technology channel. Dude is awesome and has never changed even while creating a whole sub genre by himself essentially. I never thought I would be enraptured by someone making charcoal in a mud cone for like an hour yet he got every minute from me and had me looking for more. I'm subbed to him
I have around 50 subs but I never actually pay attention to the notifications mostly just support subs for people I enjoy.
Another completely random, esoteric, and incredible one is Steve1989MRE. Dude just eats and rates old MREs (and I mean old, he has eaten stuff from world war 2 and even even WW1) from around the world and it is so damn satisfying. "NICE HISS".
