I saw this at the store today. Columbia has three public high schools, and Hickman High's mascot is the Kewpie. Guessing someone at HyVee found this product, make the mascot connection, and voila, it's at my local store.

So, would you eat room temperature mayonnaise in a bag? I think this looks utterly revolting.

Also…$12 for rancid mayonnaise?

Kewpie is pretty good.

And that's just the packaging. It's a plastic squeeze bottle.

I hate to break it to you but all mayo is room temp at the store. You don't refrigerate it until after you open it. And, as someone else said, this mayo comes in a bottle. It's just the packaging that's a bag.

It's just Japanese Mayo. I mix it with Cholula to make a dipping sauce for the artichokes I boil in my shrimp or crawfish boils.

Yup surprised people don't know this. I guess so many people don't pay attention to anything in the world or are completely incapable of making mental notes.

It's really good. Actually just used some to make deviled eggs for Easter.

Sadly, I could go on about this for too long. Kewpie has/had some deep roots in Nebraska, but they divested the egg company they owned. I've visited their HQ outside Tokyo and a salad dressing plant in Kobe- really great company with great products. Their mayo is considered premium (obviously by the price). Try it? We're not big mayo users in my house, so I haven't really eaten it much.
