These guys have been on my list for a while. They are playing Billy Bobs in May. Yes, I'm old.

On a side note, Crystal Gale loves me. So I've got that going for me< which is nice.

I saw them live at the Texxas Jamm in the Astrodome in '84 or thereabouts.

Kinda boring, but I wanted hard rock. Not southern rock.

Saw them in Houston back in 83-84. Golden Earring opened for them in the Summit. This was a great concert.

Took my twin boys around 15-18 years ago (they were ~12) to the Riverside County Datefest. Free show on a small stage (before the fair went big stage). Stood at the front/center row. Donnie Van Zant still was in the band.

After the show we hung with the band for ~45 minutes talking, taking pics, and getting autographs. My boys were R&R raised, so they quite enjoyed themselves. What's better than hanging with a member of Southern Royalty AND a founding member of Lynyrd Skynyrd?

Took them again about a year later... but the band was absent Van Zant due to illness.

They've got a great catalog of hits.

We saw them last year at the SA rodeo. They were still very good. Their vocals were great and had an entertaining performance. Which is more than what I can say for Alabama this year.

Saw them in the early 80's in Shreveport. Guessing summer of 82. Aldo Nova also played that night.

I've only seen them on squidbillies and then a youtoobs rabbit hole. If I am not busy that night I will be the guy in the crowd wearing a shirt.

Did you boo Bryan Adams off the stage? I think I remember you.

No. He played a good set! His lead player even did a guitar solo, which was pretty gutsy considering Gary Moore had just played and Jake E. Lee would be on stage next!

Saw them at SA rodeo. Really good performance. Played hit after hit with no talking or political BS.

I'm pretty sure I was at that show. The Summit was a popular place for my friends back then. Lot of concerts.

They played at Wolf Pen in College Station with Willie Nelson back like 12 to 15 years ago.

Saw them in '81 in Germany and again in Memphis in 1984, both were good shows, and both included the classic lineup, with Donnie Van Zant and Jeff Carlisi.

The current lineup doesn't interest me without those two guys. Don Barnes is the only original guy left.

When I saw them, they had two drummers playing in the band. That was really cool to see, two drummers playing at the same time. I wonder if they still have two ?.....You are so right about the Summit. There were some great concerts there back in the day. 38 Special had the best concert T-shirt I ever bought !!!

Did they have Eddie, the rotting corpse mascot of Iron Maiden, on the shirt? Because if they didn't, it wasn't the best shirt.

My bad on the shirt description. The 38 Special T-shirt was the best quality Concert shirt I ever bought. It was like two shirts in one. It was a sweatshirt with the sleeves cut out and another shirt sewed into it with long sleeves. It looked like you had a under shirt with a cut out sweatshirt over the top of it. I must have washed that thing a 1000 times. My Highschool principle even tried to give me crap about it. It lasted forever. But what was on the shirt was nothing special, pardon the pun. ....
