In my defense, I was in Syria. But still….WTF. Did I know this? Did I just forget?

I was working up in Oklahoma at the time and opened up a newspaper to find out about it.

One of the first. Saw him perform in August 2019, and he passed shortly after COVID started in earnest

Saw him at Cowboy Homecoming in Pleasanton 1988. He was drunk as hell, but really good. He was dead less than a year later. RIP Keith, could have been one of the best.

I can't (and don't) keep up with celebrities, singers, actors and actresses. Usually not aware when they die and if it crosses my radar I soon forget it. There have been so many though that I figured were dead, but they are still around. Like when the Rolling Stones did the Super Bowl halftime, I thought they had all been dead for a decade. And maybe they were.

Pretty recent I guess, but I just learned that Coolio passed away in Sept.

I have never liked rap but I could always respect the OGs and even enjoyed a select few songs here and there. They were a completely different breed of artists unlike the trash today.

And Gangsta's Paradise? Masterpiece.
