Is it ok to bring your own coffee into a breakfast restaurant?

I've done that if I was already drinking coffee on the way to the restaurant. However, I will also let them refill my cup and charge me for it.

We have a friend who goes out to breakfast with a group of us after church and always brings her coffee and gets refills. Never said anything but it seems a bit out of place.

I do it at Mexican restaurants all the time because their coffee usually sucks. I wouldn't bring it into somewhere like Snooze or Magnolia with good coffee
I bring my own to CFA or Whataburger bc theirs sucks.
I'm not a coffee drinker but I think that it would be rude to bring in outside food or drink of any kind.

It used to be frowned upon but nowadays after the pandemic, I'm sure a restaurant will take you any ole way they can get you.
