There was a magical period of time when the office, parks and rec, and 30 rock came on the same night of the week. There has been nothing good on tv since with the exception of what we do in the shadows.

I dont understand why tv is incapable of creating good shows anymore?

Have you watched Ted Lasso? Probably one of the better shows I've seen in a while. Only on Apple TV+.

I was listening to the Smartless podcast the other day with Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes and they had a comedian on a guest (can't remember who), and they were talking about how tv and film have both backed off from comedy now that companies like Netflix / Hulu / etc are growing in popularity across the globe and it turns out that humor is not universal. And bc comedy is hard and PC / cancel culture is too much trouble.

30 rock is one of my comfort shows that I just rewatch over and over
Re-watched a bunch last year while wfh; had to stop because I kept breaking into Tracy 'Jordan' Morgan voice.

They removed the "two black swans" joke likely because a white liberal woman somewhere was offended.

I heard they were removing all of the blackface episodes. That includes the one where Jenna turns into a black man and Tracy into a white woman with a monster claw - and Oprah makes an appearance. Great episode.

they also removed a very benign yet hilarious joke about Belsinkil from an Office Christmas episode.

I guess I get why no one wants to try to be funny on a major network anymore.

On Netflix they removed the first D&D episode of Community because Chang cosplays as a Dark Elf. They even address it ON THE SHOW and it's clear exactly what's going on.

Community was much more creative, experimental, and esoteric. Those other shows just followed the same cookie cutter formulas of shows that came before them to appeal to the masses, but had good writing. Community had good writing along with the previously mentioned points.
