Somebody doesn't know to extend that ladder 3' past the edge of that roof.

They will hopefully know next time if they survived.

Ladder falls are the single largest accidental cause of death besides vehicular.

People doing home improvement tasks that generate a lot of dust, fibers, or other things that could irritate the sinuses or lungs.

I use my rona mask to protect my actual dust masks. That's about all the thing is really good for.

I've done it mowing the lawn because it kicks up a lot of dust and pollen sometimes.

You're just making up stuff?

No they aren't, and they aren't even close. In recent history accidental poisonings have been the number one cause, followed by automobile deaths (they recently flipped), followed by falls of all kinds (not just ladder falls). Of deaths by "falls," the most common are on slipper floors, ice, stairs, and trips on clutter. Ladder falls are a pretty small subset of that group.

Edit: I found it! Ladder falls account for around 300 deaths per year in the US. That's ... pretty far low down the list.

Unacceptable body count. Ban ladders.

Covid doesn't work because it only kills old people after they've already had the opportunity to procreate and vote

Did not secure ladder feet into ground.
Ladder is leaning too far from vertical - base distance should be approx 1/4 of height.
Ladder is leaning against unstable surface.

I took ladder training today at work so I'm basically an expert now. Although ironically they didn't mention how far past the edge to go.

Yeah. Lots of problems in that video. But extending past the roof edge a few feet could have prevented this fall.
