How does the owner make money? Eventually what goes into the machine will come out. Does he take some out at the end of the day?

If you're playing for the money that drops, yes. The owner removes some from the shelf.

If you're playing for tickets/points, congrats. You've spent money on vapor.

Also pretty sure the entire area below the shelf isn't payout. The edges go into the machine, the middle pays out to the mark.

They are an excellent hedge against inflation.

If I remember right there were openings on the sides where it flares out that would allow quarters to fall into the machine

Used to watch these guys religiously. They only show winning videos but according to them they only really come out ahead 1 out of 10 times. A lot of these coin pushers have holes on the side that coins fall in that don't come out of the hopper.

Holy cow they cleaned house on that thing. Started with $25 and won over $3500

There's typically hidden slots that coins are pushed into on the tray. As they're all pushed, some move forward towards the payout, but others are pushed to the side and fall into the collection bins.

We were on a cruise a few years back and they had one those in the casino, I always checked it when walked by because the seas were rough and there were usually a few quarters that had fallen into the tray.

If those "bitcoins" are redeemable for actual bitcoin, that's like $90k.

Initially they used to win bitcoin but then it became a chance to win a bitcoin via drawing. Also keep in mind the high end coin pushers like the video shown have a buy in of anywhere between 500 to $1500 and they start you off with $25 worth of quarters which you can't replenish with outside money unless you purchase another buy in
