Well this thanksgiving should be an exciting one, great aunt died and left quite a bit of money in land. Aunts and uncles are fighting over who should sell it and how much for. I am gonna drink and pour gas on this fire, what's your drama this year ?

MIL died from the Rona, all the estate issues are settled but my wife and SIL have been alternating between yelling at each other and not speaking to each other. They see each other for the first time in months at my house on Thanksgiving.

My aunt #1 isn't talking to my mom. She posted something on the bookface and my mom called her out. Aunt #1 also doesn't know that aunt #2 (who aunt #1 also isn't talking to) is coming to dinner AND she's bringing her new boyfriend which is extra weird because Aunt #2 isn't divorced yet, oops.

The biggest drama of all is that aunt #1 is making the ham, which is a big deal to a lot of people. Aunt #1 prefers to make spiral cut ham but my mom prefers pit ham so dad dropped of a pit ham for aunt #1 to cook a couple of weeks ago. No telling if Aunt #1 comes at all or if she's absconded with the ham.

I used to dread the turkey day drama. But since I moved away, I revel in it. It's like I get to live in a soap opera for one day a year

I want to have a really good Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone else wants Turkey and Dressing. These are the type of people you just can't reason with

You can have a fancy dinner party any day of the year. Thanksgiving is for turkey and dressing or gfy.

Grandmother passed 10/27. 4 kids and 4 stepkids. Stepkids werent in original will but now that it's all my (step)grandfather's that's about to change. Uncle #1 wont be there, he gave the girls the finger.
Aunt #2 is having Turkey day at her house. Mom is #3 she isnt going. They asked her what shes bringing and she told them nothing since she isn't going. Aunt #4 has been a drama starter through all this. So much fun on moms side.

Dad, he usually trys to go to Mexico and skip the drama. I love him more for not subjecting me to dealing with his forever girlfriend and her family.

Woah…….. I was wondering if you were a relative, at first, then I saw "Aunt".

Dad left some money and the ranch. Oldest sister was a big cheerleader for keeping the ranch until the last few months. Had youngest sister convinced that was the way to go. I convinced youngest sister otherwise. Brother is a fence sitter, but favors keeping it. I'm the youngest, the executor of the will, the only one that maintains things, and oldest keeps stirring the pot unnecessarily.

My folks visit me on the East Coast, so no drama. Not a lot of friction if and when extended family gets together - all the family land is in trust and/or has clear distribution on the death of my last living grandparent.

I'm hoping my mom doesn't want me to take her ass to my grandmother's. Mom just moved into a nursing home because she's obese, diabetic, and has never taken care of herself, though she's had notable memory issues in the last year as well. She somehow got into one 10 minutes from me, so being 3 hours away isn't an excuse to avoid her anymore. Growing up, holidays at my grandparents' typically ended with mom yelling and screaming at someone and us leaving in a hurry because she's a selfish, bitter ***** who takes offense at everything and never forgets a slight. So if I have to take her there, which I don't have room for, I have to bring her back when she inevitably gets upset at something innocuous and wants to leave early.

We're avoiding the Thanksgiving drama and running off to Banff. Although the whole family did just throw some well-founded accusations of drug use around, so I'm glad I'll be in the great white north.

If it's your sister-in-law, it implies one of the following:
- Hoar SIS is your brother's wife
- Hoar SIS your wife's sister
- Hoar SIS is married to your wife's brother, right?

Which one is it?

There will be drama, but I won't be around for it. Got tickets to the Macy's parade and the Rockettes, so taking the kid to NYC for 5 days to do all the holiday things.

Everyone is agitated because I've hosted every holiday and done all the cooking for the last 10 years. I told them months ago that they were welcome to gather at my house since I have all the stuff for it and live most central to everyone, but apparently no one has made any plans and now there's panic and guilt trips all around. I feel a little bad, but not that bad.

Yea same with my wife until everyone requires a mask and vax passport to do anything and crime has skyrocketed. No chance we spend money there until all of that goes away.
