Hornback's was off of Texas across from the Admin building. Same owners as the Chicken. It's closed down but looks like Dixie Chicken folks still own the building.

Remember... The Globe? Someone's attempt to bring a real club to BCS. Anyone know how long it lasted?

Played many games of pool and killed many a beer at Hornback's.

Went to The Globe a time or two myself with my then girlfriend. Lots of football players were there.

Have many fond memories of Bullwinkle's and Denim & Diamonds.

There was a place out in Bryan that was a big converted garage or something. Had sand volleyball courts outside. Can't remember the name of that place but it was fun for a hot second.

Is the Ptarmigan officially dead now? The Hall of Fame gone now too right?

And my memory is fading…was the old campus theater still there right before Shadow Canyon or was it something before SC?

Didn't Bucky Richardson own that place? Don't remember the name either. Food was decent.

I think Ptarmigans is still open. Or at least the building is still standing and still says Ptarmigan

Hornbacks on east gate. My dad class of 76 spent a lot of time there. He said NG didn't really exist in the early 70s.

Time Square is now a church RIP. Awesome pool hall and the first place I could openly underage drink when I was a freshman.

Hall of Fame is now a Wal-Mart - biggest tragedy in college station history.

That'd be like tearing down Gruene Hall to build a 7-11. Just despicable.

The place in Bryan was Big Dogz.

What about the wooden 2 story building on Harvey, around where Ozona/Carinos sits, now? It was something like "Sneakers" and had an outdoor sand volleyball court.

Big Dogz! That's it!!

And yes, after it closed at some point I think Bucky bought it and took a run at a steakhouse/restaurant but it didn't last long if memory serves.

To be fair, there is also a panda express there, which is closer to the actual old location than the Walmart is.

Fresh off the turnip truck I went with some friends to the HoF. The "tight fitting jeans contest" was an eye opener for a dude in the mid 90's that had not seen anything more racy than a Showtime free preview weekend, and certainly nothing live and in person.

I took a shot at Hornbecks that I think was called a "brain" shot or something like that? As they poured the last ingredient into the shot it like coagulated (?) and made a mass that kind of looked like a brain. Pretty cool

NG on game weekends is nut2butt. Even with 15 new bars.

We go to our OldAg haunt and it's usually pretty manageable.

I bartended at Hornbacks for a while. Some of my favorite memories from my time at A&M came from that bar.

Worked with some amazing folks there. Only thing that matches Alfred T's in my all time favorite jobs is the Repub.

The one and only night we decided to go see what the big deal was about the Texas Hall of Fame was the night it became the Texas Hall of Flames. That evening we saw "Breaking News!" on 1 Channel (which was what we called KBTX because if you didn't have cable, you got 1 channel) that a fire had broken out in the kitchen at the Texas Hall of Fame that afternoon. They had a live report from the parking lot and everything.

By the time it reopened we were, "Meh. Wasn't meant to be."

One of my favorite memories at A&M was my dad coming to visit. He was a pool shark so we went to Hornback's to play. It was the only time in my life I ever had a beer with him. He did not drink and I never drank in front of him except for that day. He proceeded to kick my ass in pool despite not having played in years. I had been playing quite often and had deluded myself into believing I could beat him.

Dunno; never went. Something caught on fire and burned it, though.
