Just saw someone dunking a Tarleton ring. Is this a common thing?
Hoping this is not some "part of the A&M system" BS.

light beer? nancy.P-Dex said:
Yeah, you're right.
I am sure Tarleton students had no idea that TAMU students were known for dunking rings in pitchers of light beer and chugging them with family/friends.
Probably just coincidence.
new army started in the middle 80's, there was no ring dunk in the late 60's.Wrangler said:
Thought ring dunking was outlawed in BCS because New Army can't handle their alcohol?
Incorrect. New Army starts on a rolling basis after one's sophomore year.aeon-ag said:new army started in the middle 80's, there was no ring dunk in the late 60's.Wrangler said:

Not outlawed but TAMU, the school, has recently officially disowned any and all association and affiliation with it.
Liabilities of course.

After reading through their website, they also do:
Howdy week
Bonfire (and various stories of rivals trying to ignite early / using planes to drop gasoline bombs)
"Duck" Camp
And staying off grass near school buildings (MSC for us)

Tarleton used to be the preparatory school for the final two years at A&M when it was John Tarleton Agricultural College (JTAC), so their traditions likely predate you by 80-100 years or so.
