The idea is that your word becomes your theme for the year. For example, if I chose the word "grateful," then my goal would be to practice gratitude more often throughout the year. If you know that scary things await you in the year ahead, you might choose the word "brave."

As I was reading off examples from the list aloud, my eloquent and very educated husband chose "fart-salad."


Here's a list to choose from but feel free to pick your own.
