So I recently bought a generator, and so I had to get a gas can to go with it. Now that I'm actually trying to use it, I've discovered that they have made these plastic gas cans impossible to use. I made a bigger mess trying to get gas out of this can than I ever did with the old metal ones with the metal pour nozzle.

I bought one recently and cannot get the gas to pour out of it unless I remove the entire cap. Damn government regulations.

Go to Tractor Supply and buy a replacement spout. They even include a vent .

I wouldn't say it is government regulations. Modern gas cans are the product of litigation from idiots that sued gas can manufactures after they caught themselves on fire.

If you're not smart enough to figure out the gas can, you probably shouldn't be operating whatever machine you're trying to pour the gas into.

Edit: I bought one last year, and all I have to do is push the spout forward while pouring, it couldn't be much easier.

while I totally buy into mr mocking birds can solution what you are looking for is a utility jug. They can't call them gas cans anymore.

the one pictured with the green parts near the spout that are ubiquitous in home depot are beyond horrible.

however, if you're lucky and look hard enough they do have one with a black spout that is awesome.

it literally just has a button you press and that's it.

i've slowly added my collection to 3, 5 gallon ones.

it's this exact one, it's awesome.

easy to use and has side handle as well.

i have no idea why anyone would ever purchase the one with the green handle, it flat out sucks
