I play that, didn't know it was TexAgs poster. Makes sense why the computer players are named Philip, Jay, and Fry.

Many moons ago I remember being able to play online, and met some cool people. Grad/prof school got too busy so I didnt play as much and couldn't tell you the website. Theres got to be one out there

It's an older system but there are players on there. I was just about to get back into that myself. My dad plays on there quite often now that in person games can't happen.

im gonna have to check out some of these apps. Ive been playing the computer on https://www.ccdominoes.com/ for 15 years. theres an online multiplayer option but a $30 buy in is probly too much for most
There's a new, Aggie-backed, online 42 game available. This one has live video feed so you can play with your friends just like being in person. You can have private or public games. If you happen to be short a player or two, you can also play against the computer bot. www.shoot42.com or @Shoot42 on Facebook.
You can download Table Top Simulator from steam and play any board/card game you can imagine with other people - friends or strangers.

Full disclosure: I'm one of the folks behind it. It's called FollowMe42 (play.followme42.com), a browser-based 42 game, no app install. Right now you can jump in and play against AI opponents (several difficulty levels), and multiplayer with friends/family is in final testing, coming soon (weeks not months).
Not trying to replace playing at the actual table with actual tiles and actual trash talk, nothing does that. It's more for practice, or for when the people you'd normally play with are scattered around, like during COVID when this thread started, or now with family spread across states.
Happy to answer questions, and I'll drop back in here once multiplayer's live if there's interest.

Looks like 42-online is dead.
