Pre made chicken salad from a store is not the best ever hands down chicken salad.

The only other chicken salad I've had is my wife's, and it's ****ing horrible.

Just happened to get the Curried Chicken Salad at the HEB Deli today and it was delicious.
Sweetened with lots of raisins, crunchy with lots of almond slivers, and packed with lots of breast meat chicken in a tangy mayo/mustard seed sauce, it was ready to eat right out of the plastic container, and I had no trouble getting it all down.
But then I like curry...wifey took one sniff and fled.

Chicken salad is so varied. It's like Forrest Gump and his box of chocolates. You literally never know what you're going to get.

HEB donuts are better than Dunkin and Krispy Kreme.

Low fat, yet delicious version

Low fat Sour Cream and a ranch packet, add in pecans or grapes if desired

Saw the thread title and came here to post this. It's better than every fresh style I've had.

I can never pass up chicken salad sandwiches when I see them on a menu.

Arby's is surprisingly good.

I left my list of chicken salad rankings somewhere, though. I'll get back to you with more of the list. So embarrassing.

Yeah, the few times I go to Arby's it is always a struggle. Seem to always end up with the chicken salad.

There is chain in Denver, Heidi's that has the best chicken salad sandwich i have ever had and i normally despise mayo.

Best I ever had was at a deli in Newport RI. Wish I could remember the name of the place but it was in 1990 so it likely shut down anyways.

2nd best was at this deli in Terre Haute, IN. Deli was inside a gift shop, The Apple House. Had awesome ruben's as well. Like most good things in Terre Haute it went out of business because the obese mouth breathers there prefer Friday's and Chi-Chi's (pre-green onion shutdown).

3rd best is your mom's. She is making me some right now.

The HEB rotisserie and the Sassy Scotty from Chicken Salad Chick are my favorites

Bucees actually has pretty good chicken salad

Millers's Market in Lott and it's not even close

Buc-ee's cranberry pecan chicken salad

If any fruit, nuts, or eggs is involved, it can't be good chicken salad.

pre-made? the HEB rotisserie chicken is made daily and put in the fresh refrigerated section. what's the difference in that and at a restaurant that pre-makes it?

I agree. But the Special, not the Original. The chicken is shredded so no dry chunks, a lot of very tasty dressing as well as pecans and large red grape halves.

Also, nearby in Zabcikville, Greens deli has the best boudain we've tasted since Nick's grocery quit selling it in Port Arthur.

If you catch Green's, Miller's and then Snow's for BBQ on a Saturday morning, it's a pretty good food run, imo.
