The comments on the Batt's FB post indicate that they are brother and sister and that their mom is on faculty at Mays. Please correct me if that's not the case.

So horrible. Prayers lifted for their family and friends.

That stretch of hwy 6 is starting to get really dangerous. Our family ranch is about 5 miles south of Hearne and trying to pull out onto 6 is getting impossible with the amount of traffic.

Not just "starting to," it's always been that way.

I can't figure it out either. It's a pretty decent road and good lines of sight and escape routes.

Unlike 105, which I avoid at all costs.

This was so sad. I cannot imagine losing one child, but two at the same time, I cannot even fathom. The girl had just gotten engaged a few months ago. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Here. So incredibly sad.

I hate that stretch of road, and the stretch from Hearne to Rockdale.

Hwy 6 as well as 290 between Houston and Austin. They're so heavily traveled and very very dangerous. They should be converted into interstates or we need barriers separating the directions of traffic. I've heard these stories way too many times.

But yeah, not gonna assume but I wouldnt be surprised at all if the infiniti driver was texting or something. Sounds like a classic case of distracted driving. Those poor students.

Email current and former PPA students received:

Quote:

Good Morning,

It is with a heavy heart we report a big loss to the PPA and Mays family. Two of Joan Sanders' children died in a car accident yesterday afternoon. Maegan was in PPA group 27 and was scheduled to start work with EY in San Antonio in 2020. She also served as a TA for our department. Her brother, Wesley was a sophomore Mays BBA student. Both were members of the Mays Business Honors Program and were exceptional students.

The Aggie Network is a powerful one and to show more support to Joan, feel free to send her an email of encouragement at jsanders@mays.tamu.edu. These small messages and notes will get her through the long journey ahead.

True...I only venture into the left lane when it splits or when the speed limit is low enough to be able to make a move.

It has. I grew up right there and never understood why so many accidents occur there. Can't tell you how many times we had to go fix fence on our land there across from 2549 near that power plant.

It just seems like the traffic density has increased 10 fold in the last decade.
