Tipping culture in America is stupid, but I don't take my frustrations out on the workers who are forced into the system. Hate the game not the players.
I tend to agree here.
But 1000% yes on the culture of tipping in America.
So if I order a pizza and go pick it up myself, I feel guilty if I don't put something in the tip line. And there are so many other instances where you're not really getting service, just a product, but there is an expectation of a tip. It's just strange how we have decided what is tip worthy and what's not.
When I was in college, I worked at a furniture store and I rarely got tips. Frankly, the Mexican Nationals were the best tippers, but the point is, I probably got a tip 5% of the time. It just wasn't a societal norm.
