I have AT&T it sucks, maybe that can help with your decision. I've heard Cricket is good.

Pretty sure cricket is att towers though. I just want this to use my phone as hot spot to stream to a rokutv while at work.
This is worded really bizarrely. What do you do on your phone? It sounds like you have home wifi?third coast.. said:
Would it be better to get a second phone with some other service to use as my Wi-Fi hotspot and streaming device temporarily? Or a Wi-Fi hotspot? New territory for me. TIA

Yes it's,not,an issue at home. I have home wifi and can and do stream all content to tvs and phones at home. However, I am currently assigned to a ship that is stateside and will be at a pier for the majority of the next 4 month's. I just hit my data limit on Verizon for the month, so I obviously need to upgrade my plan. Generally, i spend half the year overseas using other carriers so this hasn't been an issue. Because I'll be stateside, i have to provide my own phone so I'm using my own data. I want to be able to stream to my tv without choosing an arm and a leg. Im trying to figure out the best unlimited data plan to do so. Does this help?

Cricket has their own towers in addition to AT&T towers, plus it is cheaper. I don't know if their customer service is as bad, though.

if you are military, T-Mobile has a pretty good unlimited plan, especially if you are going overseas again.
I'm sure most places do, but T-Mobile will likely be cheaper. Even if your not military, their service will likely be cheaper compared to AT&T or Verizon, and they have pretty generous overseas service with it.
You do need to check your coverage for where you will be. There is no use in getting a cheap plan if you can't use it because of crummy coverage. Their service is a lot better than 10 years ago.
