I was pulled over and ticketed for not stopping at that light back in 2003. Cop insisted that I should've stopped since the light was red, even though I had my own lane to turn into.

Yes, that kid is going to cause some people to get tickets or cause a wreck. You do have to stop and look even in a turn lane.

But it's still kind of funny that some kid had enough time on his hands and was pissed off enough to do this.

You have to yield to pedestrians since there is a painted crosswalk. You do not have to stop since there is no painted stop line, or a traffic control device for that separate lane.

I haven't heard of CSPD giving anyone a ticket for not stopping in over a decade. Somebody got a ticket there that knew better; they went and pulled the TxDOT records that shows there is no stop required, showed them to the judge/JP, and got the ticket dismissed. CSPD got on board after.

I have yet to understand why a yellow diamond has never gone up there though.

There is a yield there, you don't have to stop. In fact I believe you can get a ticket for unnecessarily stopping at a yield.

according to DFW traffic, yellow diamonds are for ignoring.

You don't have to stop, but I've seen a wreck there from someone rolling straight through without looking while a car going 40 mph was getting into that far right lane preparing to turn right. Could have been prevented by just yielding and taking a look.

There isn't a yield sign either. There is a double white line. Folks turning right have the right of way in their lane and don't need to yield to anyone. Stopping or slowing down causes issues.

This was my thought as well. Sure it's not safe to assume an idiot doesn't understand how driving laws are, but there's no real justification for someone cutting to the far right lane anywhere near that intersection.

It was always hilarious to me that there was a big adult video sign right at one of the busiest intersections in the middle of town, across from the campus. Instead of out on the highway like most normal towns.

Dummy that was merging into the right lane would have to cross a solid white line to be able to get into the far right lane.

Hopefully he got a ticket and had to return to driving school to learn the law,
