Whatabuger burgers are substantially better than DQ burgers. Nobody is claiming that either is fine cuisine.

No, they're not.

The Favorites menu is better because of all the extra crap they throw on there, but the plain ol' burger is pretty much the same as DQ's.

Well, my kid for one, but he doesn't exactly have what you would call an advanced palate. He's at least figured out ketchup doesn't belong on a burger, so there's still hope.

The greatness of Whataburger is all the stuff you can do with it.

Grilled buns
Grilled onions
Grilled jalapenos
Spicy ketchup
Extra mustard
A1 sauce
Etc.

Personally, I go traditional. #1 with cheese, spicy ketchup added, jalapeno on the side. Extra patty if I'm real hungry.

A buddy of mine in Lexington told me a few of the DQs there are independently owned so they do breakfast, says some of the best breakfast in Kentucky with everything on the menu being made from scratch. Anyway, whataburger is far superior to DQ in burgers, toss up on chicken fingers, DQ has them frozen steak fingers but I could eat 50 of them, and that Dude sandwich is legit.

There is a Braums in Commerce, TX and that's pretty podunk... it's a 1 light town! That's where I discovered braums... goodness I could go for a bag of burgers right now! Those things are good!

Commerce ain't Podunk. Pleasanton, Lytle, Giddings (ok, the DQ there went out of business a year or so ago, they still had one), Smithville, Diboll, Elgin, Trinity, that's Podunk. Commerce is a f'n metropolis compared to those places.
