Should People Kill Fictional Fairies?

So I watched this movie called Bright this weekend. In the movie, Will Smith is a human cop with an Orc partner cop. The movie is basically a buddy cop movies with Orcs, Humans and Elves.

In the movie there's a scene where Will Smith chases a fairy, that had been bugging the crap out of his wife, with a broom and kills it. I admit the fairy is a little annoying bugger, but before it dies it's laughing and having a good time and doesn't seem to be that destructive. It also appeared to be semi intelligent as I think I caught some words here and there. I might be mistaken. Anyways, the fairy is basically a little annoying humanoid.

In addition, I read a Japanese comic the other day that was set in 1800s England. In this world, people capture cute little Fairies and make 'em fight each other to the death in staged matches. Folks bet on which fairy they think will win. It's basically dog fighting with fairies. These fairies can talk and communicate, however, and get sad when they're forced to kill other cute little fairies.

What's up with people picking on fairies in these fictional worlds? Should the people coming up with these movies and comics stop killing off fairies? How would you feel if Tinkerbell had been forced to fight in a death match?

Most mythical faeries are actually fairly destructive and antagonistic toward humans. Or at least they cause humans a great deal of trouble if disturbed.

But I suspect the scene in Bright (which I haven't seen) is there to establish that this fictional world is a bit on its head when it comes to common perceptions of fantasy.

This isn't even a question about fictional characters that I would ask.

Yes, and Pok-e-mon endorses slavery.

Catch this little sentient being, then force it to fight battles for you.

What about fooling around with fairies? I mean, 10 or so fairies combined could be fun if they worked together.

A better question is why TF does Tinkerbell have wings? Biotch cannot fly without pixie dust so wings are useless. HOWEVER, if her wings get damaged she cannot fly EVEN WITH PIXIE DUST. WHAT THE **** DISNEY? A pirate ship can fly with pixie dust sprinkled on it and it doesn't have wings! Why do fairies need useless undamaged wings just to fly with pixie dust? It's ****ing ******ed.

Foolishly I answer the troll about pixie dust by pointing out that it comes from pixie wings,
kinda like moth wing dust.

You aren't wrong, but it's hard to imagine orcs outranking fairies in society or becoming devolved enough to be garden pests.

I own this book. It is very funny - a collection of 'pressed fairies', like one would press flowers.

Any fairy that runs is a VC. Any fairy that stands still is a well-disciplined VC.
