I haven't heard either one, but we have the Flip3. I am a HK/JBL fan. I think you couldn't go wrong with the Flip. It is very clear and well made. I have heard a few Monster products and was not terribly impressed.

My son has the flip. Surprisingly good sound groom a small unit. We use it in the garage all the time.
