Since A&M has moved to the SEC, have any of you well traveled folks had the allsome opportunity to try Boiled Peanuts?

What did you think of them?

Like, Hate or Entirely Indifferent?

I lived in Odessa, Florida for several years as a child and we used to regularly make these in a huge black cauldron. They are magic and I love them.

The Anglo side of The Wife's family comes from North Carolina, and she grew up on them. I think they are a vile concoction and waste of good peanuts.

Wife is from GA, she loves them.

I tried them once while in Alabama a few years back, and I thought they were okay. I don't understand the love that they have for them there, though.

When I worked in the FW area...I use to work with some people from Georgia and Alabama. They had a few Boiled Peanuts parties. The more you drink the better they are.

Back in 2002/2003 when I was at ft Rucker, there was a billboard on hwy 231 going in to Dothan that read, "in Alabama we love nuts". Obviously referencing the peanut farming industry, but the phrasing made me chuckle.

At Clemson, the country boys in my study group invited me over for Boiled peanuts but I thought they said "Bold peanuts" with their southern accents. They were soggy and not bold at all and I have no clue what the fuss is about.
