Any recommendations concerning work shoes that don't kill your feet? Or comfortable shoe inserts?

Might I suggest something like this for the ladies. Both comfortable and practical.

I wear composite toe carhartt boots or my steel toe Keens. Both are real comfy

Yeah. It was for climbing, but I cut it off since there was no wall. Now I'm wishing I could have it back.

Bought my first J&M's last week. Gave me the worst blister within the first morning of wearing them. Hopefully once broken in a little they'll be good.

I think Allen Edmonds are not what they once were. They still can claim "made in America" but it's a farce. One of those things where 95% of the manufacturing/assembly is outsourced and they finish the job in a US factory. I've seen major slip in the last couple of pair that I bought, and I even tried to have a pair recrafted (it's a cool thing they can do) and they weren't able to do it for some reason (not enough leather, I was told. What the hell does that mean?)

Good company, but down a peg for me from a few years ago. I think they're trying to expand the brand too quickly, but they still sell for a premium over other brands (like J&M for example).

If you're in an office environment, this was the right answer.

I got some cheap clarks bostonians that I liked. I need a Mfg that is good at comfortable 4E width.

Right now I'm in a comfortable pair of well broken in red wings.

If you want comfortable dress shoes get some Cole Haan Zerogrands. Leather dress shoes with Nike air soles. I have some Allen Edmonds which fit really well but for comfort the Zerogrands are tennis shoe level comfortable.
