I made my once a year appearance at Sam's Club and saw a sectional couch that actually looked better than I expected (didn't know they sold couches) and I sat down on it and it felt way better than I ever imagined Sam's having. It seems perfect to put at the lake house since its cheap and comfortable, but I don't know about Sam's furniture. Does anyone have any experience with it? How durable is their furniture? Obviously, it won't get used as much at a lake house and wear out as fast, but I'm not interested in buying something that will break easily.

I looked online and didn't find the same one to be able to provide a link to the brand and model.

The problem is what do you do with the other 5 couches that come in the pack?

We have a table and chairs from there. Bought it 13 years ago - to last "until we got real jobs and moved into a real house." It's been our breakfast room table through 4 houses now. Kids have done homework and projects on it, we've eaten a million meals there. It just never let us down.

Finally, last year, the kids were playing with adding glow stick juice to bubbles and it got all over the table and stripped the finish. We refinished it and it should still give us several years of service.

Nothing fancy, but a good investment on the $200 we spent on it.

I bought a couple of Sam's leather (?) sectionals for reception areas of my office a few years ago. They are holding up just fine with limited daily use. Would buy again.

TXelsie, I'm impressed it lasted that long!

Trident, this was (assumed faux) leather, so it might be the same. Glad it held up to that much use.

the problem with faux leather is that it doesn't breath at all. get sticky sitting on it.

We bought a pair of Costco (same as Sam's?) recliners about six months ago, and they've been great.

Spent half a day looking for recliners, went to the name-brand stores, etc and didn't find anything we liked. Then went to Costco for a normal grocery run and happened to see their recliner for a fraction of what we were going to spend. Never in a million years thought I'd settle for Costco furniture - especially for something as important as my RECLINER - but the combination of a comfortable test drive there in the store mixed with not wanting to do anymore shopping led to us saying F it and rolling the dice.

Like I said, six months later and no regrets.

Bought 2 recliners in college at the Sams off Harvey. That was in 2004-2005. Used them all the time until a few years ago. Wife wanted to get rid of them but they were already broken in so I said "hell no". They are now the most comfortable and functional in the man cave (aka garage).

Bought a leather sofa, love seat, chair and ottoman set in 2001....gave it to son when he married in 2012. Bought a two sofa/chair ottoman leather sets still in use. Bought a dining table with six chairs in 2001...still in dining room and needs to be refinished soon. No complaints and will look there again soon!

All leather furniture has been thick leather nothing bonded or thin.

One consideration are the pretty generous satisfaction guarantees offered by Sam's and Costco, in particular.

we bought some outdoor patio furniture from there in about 2009...3 years later the tile/mosaic table top of it had weathered and basically fell apart. I started digging on trying to find the manufacturer (I called Sam's specifically) to try and get just the table top replaced and in that conversation we came upon the invoice/purchase date and information. This particular product fell under some lifetime guarantee, so I paid my lawn guy $50 to load it and meet me at Sam's - returned it and got my $1100 back.

So we basically had free furniture for a few years.

Bought a futon from Sam's 16 years ago and it is still going strong, even through children roughhousing on it.

This. Never knew about it until my buddy had to return a leather couch that ripped. They replaced it, but it wasn't the construction of the couch, but his new cat who pierced through it with her claws after using it as a scratch post. I'm sure he left that last part out...

My dining room table and chairs are from SAMs. Bought them in 2010. Seriously solid stuff. Looks just as good as it did when I bought it. Still just as well put together.

The dog is in the picture because my husband wanted to point out that I restained the table to match the dog....

Alex, the dog, is my TexAgs treasure too. Found him on here when he needed a home and he's been an important part of the family ever since.

Costco has very high quality furniture for the fraction of the cost.

Sams is more like nice Walmart furniture but they don't go through the rigorous QAQC selection that Costco imposes on all of their suppliers.
