College Station Easter Celebration
March 28, 2015
9:30 a.m. to Noon
George Bush Presidential Library and Museum

The College Station Easter Egg Hunt has been a long standing tradition hosted by the Police Department. From humble beginnings in 1982, the Easter Celebration has evolved into one of the most highly anticipated events of the spring. The Bush Library and Museum began partnering with the police department in 1999, adding activities to the event modeled after the annual White House Easter Egg Roll.

Activities will include games, face painting, an Easter egg hunt, egg roll, egg toss, complimentary refreshments and photos with the Easter Bunny. Specially designed wooden White House-style Easter Eggs are given to the children. Local merchants contribute prizes to give away, and a boy's and a girl's bicycle and helmet will be awarded in each of the three age categories: 3 and under, 4-5 and 6-7. Parents must register their children to win.

For more information call (979) 691-4014, or reservations.bush@nara.gov.
Thank you to our event partners the City of College Station, Candy 95, Newstalk 1620 WTAW, and Peace 107.

Exhibit Opening: History in the Making - Texas A&M Forest Service
March 16, 2015
George Bush Presidiential Libraary and Museum

The Texas A&M Forest Service (TFS) is celebrating 100 years of service with an exhibit at the Bush Library and Museum. Opening March 16 and running through November 8, this exhibit will tell the story of how this agency has grown over the last century. In its early days, it was a few dedicated forest patrolmen on horseback. Today, it is a statewide agency that trains and equips landowners, communities, and fire departments so that they may prevent, prepare for, and protect against wildfires. TFS is also the incident management agency for state emergencies. They led the management of such incidents as the Space Shuttle Columbia recovery in East Texas, the exotic Newcastle disease outbreak in West Texas, and provided logistical support in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Ike.

This is such a great event. When my kids were small, it was our tradition to drive up from Houston, go to the Easter Egg hunt, then have lunch at Wings N More.....
