Damn, sorry to hear that. My dog of nearly 16 years was having trouble getting up and my parents made the call. It was the right one to make, but wasn't easier to say goodbye. I still miss her. Thoughts and prayers are coming your way.

I'm sorry you have to go through this. I just had to put my best friend of 10 years down on Wednesday. The decision was difficult but necessary. The comfort that I have is in knowing that he gave me the best 10 years of my life that no other human/animal could. He was always there to support me and forgave me when I made mistakes with him. I hope that you find the peace that I've been struggling to find. Also realize that regardless of your selfish tendencies of wanting them to last forever (speaking on my own behalf), when it's their time to go, let them.

I'll never forget you letting me borrow her that one time to pull a stunt for that grad class. She was so well mannered, even early in the morning on a rainy day in a strange car, and walked through the park without being bothered by any of the people or animals that were around. Lady was a sweet girl.
