fwiw, I have no dislike for Governor Perry, nor do I think naming (or even renaming) a building after him is necessarily a bad idea. I just don't think renaming the Academic Building after him is a good idea.

If he "declined" the honor it will have been because he saw the ****storm of opposition that erupted when people found out about it, and realized he was going to suffer massive public backlash if it went through.
