Everyone that owns an Aggie ring has probably tried this at some point in their life, but have you ever seen it recorded at 10,000 frames per second?

Doesn't work with newer rings - at least not newer women's rings. I could do it with my '94 ring, but can't with my '08 ring.

The lines are probably artifacts from the reflection of light from the ring. We don't see those lines in some of the other videos we've done. The camera is capturing at 10,000 fps and we're using an extremely bright light source due to the short exposure time. But I'm not 100% sure.

It starts shield down, but due to the shape and weight distribution of an Aggie ring, it rights itself. Try it sometime.

An interesting side-note: the physics department at A&M once did a study on this and were baffled to find that the force required to do this in the lab was only half of what they had determined in theory. Turns out the other half of the force required came from the.Association of Former Students.

True story.
