Pay bump is about 40% more than I'm making now.

I would be dealing with students that are almost exclusively on 100% scholarship.

I also know that probably 90% of the peeps in JUCO are idiots.

Well, Max, based on your second post, it seems like it is something you should pursue.

Just make sure you don't burn any bridges where you are at so that you can come back if it doesn't work out.

If there is no "catch" then it sounds like a nobrainer

My current boss is retiring in 2014, so there won't *really* be any bridges to burn. He also realizes that I don't want to be working admin for the rest of my life, which is why I'm in grad school.

Tailgating will not be a problem at all!

There are ALWAYS bridges that can be burned.

if they really want you they'll work it out.

I don't know you IRL, but from what you've posted on this site in the past few years regarding your career I think you have to take this position. If someone is willing to pay you more to do a job that you'd enjoy more than what you are currently doing, then you have to take it.

I'm aware that bridges can always be burned, my boss is very aware that my short term plan was to work here while attending school, and then move on to bigger/better(paying) things.

If this is true, then why- to localize things- does Blinn have such a good working relationship with A&M? Why do they have such a great acceptance rate of students transferring there?

There are exactly two things keeping A&M from becoming like University of Houston- Clear Lake and offering only Junior and Senior and Graduate classes= Athletics and the Corps of Cadets. Those two entities are the 'safety net' that causes the university to tolerate Freshmen and Sophomores.

You will have some dumbasses in your classes. Of course, you'd have some at A&M or Yale or Harvard, too.

I took a few classes at Blinn and went to another juco out of state for a year before i graduated from A&M and I'm the smartest person on the GB.

I worked at a junior college for a boss that wanted us to move on to bigger and better things.
