Looking at Saltlick for dinner for 20 on a Saturday night.

Is there a big difference in location. Either have live entertainment on Saturday? Both BYOB?

I've only been to the Drifwood location, which I believe is the original. But the Round Rock location would be much more convenient.

Atmosphere at Driftwood is MUCH better.

RR location is like a typical joint where you come, eat, and leave.

Driftwood is a great place to sit under the oaks and have a few beverages.

IBT "most overrated BBQ EVAR" comment

Driftwood is the correct answer, FYI

Driftwood is worth the drive. RR taste's good, and it is convenient...but it's just not the same.

I'll bite on the "Most overrated BBQ EVAR" comment. I've had it 3x and am planning on never going back. I'd eat Rudy's before there.

Seriously, it's overrated. If it wasn't SXSW I'd say go to Ironworks downtown but since that place is going to be a zoo I'd say your only option is Cooper's BBQ in Llano, or New Braunfels (whichever's closer).

Great location, but the BBQ sucks ass.

We're not looking for grand champion BBQ.

Looking for a place that can accommodate a group of 20 and get some food in gut, possibly at a place that has some live music. BYOB is a huge plus. As is the flat food rate of $20/person for all you can eat, in lieu of everyone ordering something different and trying to split the bill.

RR has live music outside. I live in RR and I like the Salt lick (but I've never been to the other one)

the driftwood location now has a winery which also sells beer by the 6-pack, in case you forget yours.

Yeah its overrated.. Only a top 10 bbq joint in America. Some of you people are really dumb. Coopers in Llano is fantastic.

Don't forget the food court in the airport.

Driftwood or don't bother.

The food is highly overrated for me. Period, end of story.

Maybe I had their brisket on a bad night. But if your brisket is dry your BBQ sucks.

Now, the Driftwood LOCATION is fantastic.
