I know, I know. Many of you think you know where the best burger in Texas is made. Unless it is made in Jacksboro, you are wrong.

The best burgers in world are made by hand at Herd's Famous Hamburgers in Jacksboro, Texas.

It is worth the trip and the wait (usually 45 mins. on a Saturday). They're closed on Sunday, so don't waste a trip.

When you order, simply say this:

"Double double with cheese, please."

If you have zantac handy, say this:

"Double double with cheese, hot, please."

If you've ever eaten a Herdburger, can the preacher get an "amen"?!

Actually, the best burger in Texas/the world is in Heaven where my grandfather is still cooking them. They were Yuuuuuuummmy!

They had McDonalds bugers at a meeting i went to last night. Since it was free I grabbed one. The slice of cheese was almost thicker than the meat patty!

Holy cow, FTA is 100% correct!! Herdburger's is absolute greatness. How do you know about that place? One of the low points in my life came when I went by Herd's the last time I was in Jacksboro only to see a sign that read: "Closed for Homecoming" Oh man, that was rough.

Gotta agree with Dallas Aggie. Kincaids.

I have eaten burgers that were great all over Texas. I'm from SE TX originally and am partial to Navrosky's.

Saying that Kincaid's is the best doesn't do anything to disparage all of the other great burgers to be had in this great state. It just points out who is at the top of the burger mountain. And Kincaid's stands there alone.

Herd's Hamburgers (Jacksboro), Ray's Drive-In (Lufkin), Lankford's Grocery (Houston) and Kincaid's (Fort Worth) run a close 1, 2, 3 and 4.

However, I would have to give the "preacher" a/k/a FTA an amen that Herd's tops the list as the best in the state.

It's tough to beat after an evening of Southern Comfort and poker at the hunting lease.

Ray's Drive-In in Lufkin.

I know, they're both hometown, but I've been all over the state, even Kincaids, but these are the best.

Smithart's Meat Market in Clute/Lake Jackson...nothing like having a prime rib or ribeye ground up into a hamburger. Best you will ever have. Period, end of discussion.

I am partial to The Noonday Store (the big blue Chevron) on Hwy 155 in Flint, TX has some pretty good burgers. Atleast I think so.

The best place USED to be The Aggie General Store right near Eureka, TX(SW of Corsicana).

You sat and watched while they sliced up the potatoes for your fries and made your burger.

They also sold bait Sadly they went under and I have yet to taste a burger as good
