About half the people in my office (all men) go to lunch every single day. Just curious if this is the norm. I usually eat a frozen dinner at my desk and go run errands or shop at lunch occasionally.


I realize this isn't the best time to post this, but the lunch crowd will be back in half an hour

I tend to go out everyday for lunch and I'm not fat.

Poor people too, but that help explains why they're poor.

I use too until I started trying to eat better, however as a single male the cost basis between eating out and bringing food hasn't been that significant

While it wont apply to everyone, I think people that eat unhealthy are more likely to eat out all the time.

Those that watch what they eat more closely and are generally in better shape will bring stuff from home.

I get taken to lunch a couple times a week. I typically cook extra @ dinner and bring it a couple times per week and go out on Fridays.

And are you sure they eat out and don't just leave for an hour?

No way I could go out to lunch every single day.

That would get old.

Plus I like to run errands and do other things at lunch other than sit in a restaurant and watch fat people eat.

I would say that between M-R I will eat off property once or twice and eat on property (free employee dining room) 3 or 4 times.

And I'm off work on Fridays before lunch

Most days I'll bring something to eat, usually some turkey, cheese, and a honey Fage. I can't eat a lot during the day. A full stomach decreases my productivity.

My day consists of wake up, go directly to work, go directly to rehearsal, go directly to sleep 5 days a week. I eat mostly healthy lunches at good, quick places.

Been eating in lately. Trying to eat healthier to help lose weight. The only things close are BK, JITB, and some hole in the wall mexican and BBQ joints.

Maybe once a week. I work out at lunch and just keep frozen chicken breasts and stuff in the break room fridge. It has been working out really well, and it is super easy.

Lunch for me is just a fuel meal on most days. I want to make sure I get enough protein to cover the workout I just finished, and I need to make sure that I've given myself enough calories for my after work run.

I go home everyday for lunch because it's 5-10 minutes away, and I have a 6 month old puppy at home.

If I didn't have the dog, I'd probably just eat at our small sandwich shop in the buildig. They have decent lunch specials everyday, with some good sandwiches and a salad bar.

Rule #1 on the puppy.

I go home every day too. 2 dogs and cheap lunch are 10 minutes away.

i eat at my desk the meal my wife prepared. a sammich, some raw veggies and fruit.

then i go to a park and read for an hour

I found if I stayed in for lunch, I was out of the 'know' of the office politics. Sometimes came around to bite me from behind. So even if you don't go out to lunch EVERY day, do so at least a few times per week. Otherwise you risk becoming an outsider.
