Is it too much for 2 people to lift?

My best bet is yes...in fact, when we moved, they only sent two guys and they broke the music stand on my upright Chickering...p*ssed me off.

get some kind of platform with rollers to move it.

you know... there are piano movers.

Get a some of border jumping americans to move it for you. They will probably do it for a case of beer.

I wouldnt think an upright would be that heavy that i couldnt even lift it.

Ours was friggin heavy! More than 2 men can handle. Ours is on wheels and it left marks on the floor from the wheels when we moved into our new house. Momma wasn't happy!!

A tornado ripped through my hometown back in 1999... I was in College Station for school. One of the damaged structures was an old crack house... inside was this 100+ year old upright piano. My mother suggested I go get it, before anyone else did. It's been a pain in the ass ever since. It weighs close to 500 lbs (estimate), and it doesn't even play. I plan to restore it someday, but as long as I live in dinky 2 room apartments, it stays in storage!!!

Anybody know where I can get a replacement metal caster for this thing? We broke one when we dropped it off the back of my truck.

Ask a piano sales or repair shop. They will be able to help you out.

Very heavy. I helped 3 strong dyke women move one and it just about killed all of us. (They were teaching me how to create stained glass, and I bought it from them for $100).
Ok, there's another funny part to this story--my husband said "you know, a couple of them would actually be attractive if they fixed their hair and wore different clothes." He just didn't get it...hilarious.
