Taco Bell has gone with a black shell with the Black Jack Taco and a red shell with the Volcano Taco, but that hasn’t been more than just some food coloring. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, McDonald’s needs a spicy chicken sandwich available in ALL of it’s U.S. restaurants. I recently had to head to Texas to come across the Hot ‘N Spicy McChicken (read my review here). It’s fun to check out test market items, so here are some more. First it was southern California, and now Houston, TX area McDonald’s are a test market for a couple of new McChicken offerings… the Jalapeno Cheddar McChicken and the Cheddar Onion McChicken.

At the apex of Denny’s “Baconalia” is the Maple Bacon Sundae. More clearly, it is a Maple Syrup, Hickory Smoked Bacon, and Vanilla Ice Cream Sundae. The title can be a little misleading. The bacon is not a “Maple Bacon”, it’s just the normal Denny’s hickory smoked bacon. The “Maple” in the title refers to the use of Maple Syrup. The sundae resembles a more traditional hot fudge sundae with syrup in the place of hot fudge and crispy bits of bacon in the place of crushed peanuts. Maybe thinking of it this way will ease the quease in some of our less adventurous readers.
