Ok to wear jeans and a polo to Muster. Or is khakis/slacks a must?

I wore black slacks and a nice dress shirt last year.

Yes it IS ok but I wouldn't recommend it. My boy wanted to wear that last year and I convinced him to wear slacks and a button down. He thanked me afterwards saying he felt more comfortable.

It's a barbecue, not a funeral.

When I was in school, only the sga homos who treat life like one long job interview ever got dressed up. Most guys wore khaki's or jeans and a collared shirt.

when i lived in the dorms i only wore a tie once a year... for Muster

Muster is a call to honor the classmates lost in the past year as well as to celebrate the bonds of Aggieland.

Unless it is truly a BBQ or on the beach shorts are a little too relaxed...definitely for the Campus Muster which also recognizes the 50 year class(and their many shades of maroon worn at the same time!)

It is our proudest tradition. Your attire should reflect as much.

equate your attire to the fact the corps is wearing midnights.

I'm a girl, and I'm wearing a cocktail dress with a cover thing and flats. Not too dressy but dressy.

my guy friends are wearing church clothes..just NO JEANS!

it has to do with remembering and paying respect to the fallen

Its great if you would like to get dressed up, but I think its a bit ridiculous to require it.

I think its a little sad that this is even an issue. If someone wants to wear shorts and a tshirt to Muster, let em. The important part is that they showed up to take part. Who cares if they are dressed up enough.

I don't think anyone ever said it's required. Just that it's more respectful.

I thought I saw on the other thread certain Musters were business casual or some such



When I lit a candle at Muster my freshman year for a friend of mine and I could have cared less what the people who answered Here were wearing.

To each his own I suppose

People asked for opinions and that is what they got...no written rules but if you kids had been taught how to dress this wouldn't be an issue. You don't learn grown up manners taking your shoes off and running wild at McDonald's.

This is a solemn event followed by a time of fellowship and fun..........dressing appropriately for both means use some sense of decorum. Some clubs hold Muster in churches, some in dance halls, some are outdoors at public parks and private property.....above all USE YOUR HEAD!

Houston used to hold their main Muster at the Rice Hotel and the old women wore mink wraps and the men worse SUITS. There was a champagne hour and lite cocktails...no meal, no fun unless you were 80!

If four families choose to Muster together with their children and remember one classmate who has passed...that shows what old Army was like and the brotherhood it gave........shorts and flip flops would be totally appropriate.

You're the one who said it's the same as a funeral. It's not.

But I really don't care what anyone else wears, as long as everyone is fully clothed (which is not to say that tonight won't end somewhere where not everyone is fully clothed).

Went to my first Muster as an alum today. I wore jeans and a button up, and in retrospect, I wish I had worn khakis.

ignore the trolls people. i swear, politicans will become honest when people stop responding to obvious trolls.

Muster is not the sad funeral like some people try to make it out to be.I look at it this way, If through some miracle nobody died this year and the roll call list was empty, Muster would still go on the way it always does. Taps on the other hand is not held unless someone died. That is a sad event.

Amazed that nobody suggested jorts so far...
