Whats the movie with the four guy friends about to graduate from high schoolin a small Texas town? Someone has a maroon and white umbrella during a scene. The block ATM is stragetically torn away, but you can still tell its an Aggie umbrella.

Also, in Space Cowboys, Tommy Lee Jones' character mentions that his girlfriend left him for a Texas A&M football player...

Actually Midway features the story of Ensign Gay--and aggie and the only surviver of his squadron that made the first attack on the Japanese carriers. He watched the rest of the attack from the waters.

In Pearl Harbor,

Doolittle's second in command was an Aggie.

In "What's Up, Doc?" Barbra Streisand claimed to have attended a whole long list of schools and majored in a LOT of subjects, including Texas A&M (majoring in Architecture).

Did you remember THAT one?

In the The Lone Star, Frances McDormand's character is a football fanatic and more specically any Texas related football. In one scene, the sheriff goes to her house and she has an A&M game on the TV, a stuffed Reveille and at least one other A&M related item (flag or pennant or something) in the room. The room was also littered with Cowboys and tu paraphernalia as well.

In Company Business, a cold war type movie starring Gene Hackman and Mikhail Baryshnikov, the person they are searching for in the plot was an economics professor at A&M.

Of course, The Bear, starring Gary Bussey in the role of Bear Bryant was partially filmed at A&M.

fandango was Kevin Costner's first movie... Centered around a frat trip to the Big Bend area (not from A&M althogh one A&M frat has a similiar tip every year.)

In Back to the Future II, I think the game is actually Texas A&M vs. Oklahoma, but I'd have to go rent it to verify.

And Robert Mitchum portrays another Aggie, Bob Gray, pilot of Plane #3, "Whisky Pete". Gray attended A&M as part of the class of '41, as did James Parker, co-pilot of plane #9, "Whirling Dervish".

deep94: Rip Torn started out at A&M, then transfered to tu. I had a nice conversation with him while he was in the area filming "Cross Creek".

One Southwest Conference band director of the (Adams) era reportedly said "I dread going against the Aggie Band...It takes two weeks to recover from the trauma."

While not really "movies"...

One of the pilots in "Baa Baa Blacksheep", the series loosely based on Greg "Pappy" Boyington's VMF 214 during WWII, was an Aggie (came out in an interview for Stars and Stripes during one episode). And, in an episode of "JAG" within the past couple of years, a pilot who mistakenly fired on a friendly column, and is defended by the lead character, was an Aggie.
