opened a spam email and got a virus yesterday.. my current spyware/virus removal program cant keep up with it.. where should i take it to get it professionally removed? i've heard best buy and office depot, anyone have experience with either of those or somewhere thats better? thanks in advance!

I'm sure that Best Buy would do a good job, but when I tried to take my laptop in to have a virus removed a while back, they said that it would take 3 weeks before they could get to it. Not only that, but I couldn't get on a list and be called when they were able to get to it- it would have to sit in the shop the whole time. I ended up buying new virus software. Maybe your's has expired?

lucky, i actually just renewed my virus removal program last month. when i've ran it today it says there is a virus and it removes it but when i try and open internet explorer it takes forever and the virus alert popup thing comes up again.. i've given up trying to do it myself.

jock, i'm not a tech person as you can probably tell but i think tracking cookies track the sites you go too... you can delete cookies by going to internet options but i dont know if it deletes tracking cookies. yea i know i am zero help

You really don't need to take it in. Most likely they will just restore your computer because it is the fastest and most effective resolution. If you really just want to rid your pc of the virus and keep your data these websites give step by step instructions of how to remove malware and viruses.

Just follow the directions.
