Place looked nice enough, used to be the old Arthur's restaurant that went broke, down by the Witte Museum.
It's Italian now. Kinda. We sat down ordered Bombay Martinis (3 of us). The drinks showed up about 10 minutes later (fail), and they were dirty martinis.
We sent them back. A martini, is a drink you can see right thru, unless asked for otherwise.
OK, so we got past that.
Food was actually very good. Gnocci with gorgonzola was outa sight. Braised short ribs were even better. Linguini and clams were ok, I can do better at home.
Wine list was average, and highly overpriced. No bargains there.
Desert was equally average. Beignets were heavy, doughy, and if thrown at someone, could be considered assault with a deadly weapon. Assorted cheeses and gelato were very good.
B-
For the money, there are better places, IMO.
One question; is it now the cool thing in SA to wear jeans with an untucked shirt, and $200 shoes with no socks these days?
No wonder these people flock to a less than average restaurant. They wouldn't know good food if someone threw it in their face.
