How long do you want to ignore this user?
I will be taking a trip out of Hobby Airport this weekend. This will be the first time I've flown since 1996 and I was 14 at the time.

I will be parking at the airport during my trip.
1. How secure is their parking? I will be parking a newish vehicle there and don't want it stolen.

2. Are there parking options that are not listed on the airport's website?

Any other tips for using Hobby would be very welcome. TIA

There is a parking structure connected. Easy to park 1-4 minute walk/ elevator ride into airport. Piece of cake. I'm flying out of there next week! We've never had any problems with theft etc... Crown & Coke is like $8 and right next to the terminals.

Parking is very secure. I typically park at Parking Spot , only cause they take Continental One Pass cards and I can get air miles. Parking directly at the terminal is 15 bones a day, Parking Cents is 10-11.

So you can park in the garage long term? I'm leaving Friday afternoon and returning Sunday afternoon. I am expecting up to $50 to park for that long in the garage right?

It is around 15 dollars a day for covered parking at the terminal, but you can park there as long as needed. I do not reccomend the economy lot at the terminal (cents), as there is always one jackass that has to park crooked, thus blocking you in or making it hard to get out of there.

Vero you sure its $15 a day? I don't think I've paid that much I thought it was like $8 or something. Maybe I just didn't notice since I'm made of money and all!

parking spot is fenced in, has covered and uncovered parking, and regular shuttles to passenger dropoff/pickup. no one in my family has ever had an issue with them

I parked in the surface lot right outside the terminal for about 5 days last year. No problems and cheap. I had a great experience at Hobby.

Just a note, if you are a B/CS resident and you are flying north or west think about using Austin instead of Hobby. About 90 miles, no Big cities to travel through and less crowded. I hate to go to the other side of Houston to catch a plane unless totally necesary. Just saying.

Best thing to do is go online and search for Hobby Airport parking. You'll know whats around, rates and might find a coupon. Hell, check the yellow pages. Some places say that if you state their ad, they'll give you XX% off. I checked into my flight last week online (Delta out of IAH) and when I printed the ticket, there was a 10% off coupon at the parking spot.

Oh...you haven't flown in 12 years?

The worst part will be driving through the slums immediately surrounding the airport. Is your car bullet proof?

Pre-flight Parking at the corner of Broadway and Airport Blvd is the way to go. Your car is locked in a secure and monitored parking garage and it's decently priced. ($5-$6 a day)

I used to park at the Parking Spot, but got tired of waiting on the shuttle, so now I park in the Parking Cents lot. Nothing worse than getting home (from being gone all week) and having to wait on the shuttle bus. Of course, I am probably the the aformentioned jackass parking crooked because I drive a big truck and it's not always that easy to park.

Make sure and get you a barbacoa breakfast taco from Pappasitos Cantina!! They are awesome!

perfectly fine. Don't worry about anything. Do you have homeowners insurance or renter's insurance? If yes, nothing to worry about. Where are you flying?

wouldn't it be cheaper (and less worry about your car) to use a service like Super Shuttle?

I have renters insurance, but what does that have to do with parking at the airport?
