I'm 19, I need a hotel room later this summer on a drive back to college station from Omaha, NE. Do you need to be a certain age?

I figured it was 18, but you never know.

And I do not think there is a specific age to rent as long as you have $$$$ and/or a credit card.

to answer the question seriously, I rented a room in DC at 19...no problems...as long as you have the cash or card to pay

And the website of the place in question (Comfort Inn) said must be 19, which works great.

You can rent a room when you're 18 and have a credit card. Hell, a couple places aren't even going to care about your age as long as you have a credit card.

just get some sleep first and you can make it in one shot, loser. i've made the 18-20 hr drive from raleigh to dfw several times and will be doing raleigh to houston in a couple of weeks.

Of course the drinking age in Canada is 19.

ok, so you can rent a civic for ~$25 extra per day with an exemplary driving record and a credit card.

i count that as not being able to rent anything useful...

but you can rent a U-haul.

On most rentals the minimum age is 25 without an additional Age Differential Charge, and 21 with an additional Age Differential Charge. However, the minimum age for the Hertz Prestige Collection (HPC) has a minimum age of 25 to rent.

Well in my case I'm under the age for rental cars and don't want to pay the absurd amount from those places, and Enterprise who has a much cheaper surcharge is closed on Labor Day when I will need to return my car.
