I went cleaning-crazy the past couple of days and my apartment smells like 409 now. I was thinking of getting some candles, but that seems kinda homo. Yay or nay?

I've got a cookie scented candle at my place and get lots of compliments about it.

The fact that the compliments are coming from your boyfriend should be a big indicator here.

Nothing wrong with a couple of candles, as long as you stick to cinnamon or vanilla or something.

If you spent like 50 bucks on a candle then maybe... but you can go to HEB and buy something for like 5 bucks that easily masks the smell of booze and sechs.

Yankee Candles makes a scent call Clean Cotton that smells good and is not fruity. i think it is very guy friendly.

My guy friend had an oatmeal cookie scented candle that smelled good. Also, Yankee makes one called Midsummers Night that smells like men's aftershave. Go for it.

No, it is not 'homo' to keep your place from smelling like foot by burning candles. I burn candles, incense, and whatever else works to keep my place smelling nice. Not just for other people but for me as well.

Coincidence? I think not.

I usually just burn one for a couple of hours in the living room or wherever you hang out the most. Depending on the candle, the scent will last for a few of days. It definitely makes walking into your house/apartment a lot more pleasant.

For Christmas each year, my mother in law gives me candles that smell like wood. They're awesome. She says they're "man candles." Right now, I'm burning the sandalwood one. I think they sell some variety of them at Target.

Get one that has some kind of a cookie scent!

Dude, you start out with candles and then move on to women's sunglasses and next thing you know, there's two corp guys bashing your face in on a couch!

they carry Yankee at Bed Bath and Beyond and Coach House in the mall. i'm sure there are other places but those are the ones i can think of off the top of my head. they are more expensive than something you would buy at walmart but walmart candles are the suck

Yankees are expensive for his purposes. Wal*Mart has a cinnamon candle that is VERY strong, and used to have an awesome oatmeal raisin one - don't know if they still carry it.

The Kwik Kar on Harvey Road across from the mall carries leather-scented candles that make your house smell like a saddle shop. I love them.

I just ordered 2 candles online - one is supposed to smell like bluebonnets and the other cut grass. We'll see.
